Let me introduce you to a wonderful family, Emily, Joseph (the baby), and Jason
Strickland. It was particularly special for me to photograph this lovely family
because I have known Emily since she was in high school. It was also special
because she named her son after my Joseph, well maybe not, but it is really
neat that we both have a Joseph in our lives.
I am proud of the woman she has become and the wonderful family that she has. Jason
is a wonderful husband and father. I am also proud to know a man who is putting
his life on the line protecting our country. He is in the Navy, which happens
to be my favorite branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, mostly because of the braids
on their uniforms and how they remind me of the Star Trek uniforms. OK, ok I know
I am a geek. Emily is an accomplished writer. She has been writing cloth diaper and parenting articles. She has been published a few times.
There is something wonderful that happens to a couple when they have their first
child. I have seen this happen in Jason’s and Emily’s lives since Joseph
arrived. I am grateful to have in someway celebrated with them this newly
formed family in this session. God is truly wonderful!
